Having Lucifer be Humanity's protector against the capricious whims of the gods and goddesses - as well as having NOT "deals with the devil" cost a person their soul, but the Miracles™ they beg for (both the selfish and self less kind) from the dieties they worship that potentially dooms them - is, quite simply, my kind of story.īut they're not to destined for Hell, because that's actually, technically, as the domain of Lucifer, HERE on earth. I absolutely LOVE stories that turn conventional mythology on its head and the way it's done here is brilliantly subversive. I still wasn't prepared for how different it really was. Before I decided to read this, I read the first couple of sentences of some of the current reviews and so when I started I was prepared for Lucifer's Litigator to be "different."
